Niagara Falls and Lake Ontario

After breakfast this morning we headed out to Niagara Falls; you may ask, what does Niagara Falls have to do with Church History or the Book of Mormon. Niagara means 'place of the neck' and several times in the Book of Mormon the writers speak of a Narrow neck; could be the same vicinity. Also, Niagara drains water from Lake Erie and feeds Lake Ontario. The Great Lakes play a significant role in Book of Mormon Geography; in Book of Mormon Geography Lake Erie is most likely the Sea South and Lake Ontario is most likely the Sea East; they are most likely the 'seas that divide the land' as referenced in the Book of Mormon. In Hebrew most any larger body of water can be called a sea. For example, the Sea of Galilee. After our visit to Niagara, we drove to our next stop, which is near the Hill Cumorah and Palmyra NY. We will visit these places tomorrow. We all had dinner together at the Golden Coral where we enjoyed a great dinner and then got to know each other better; then we went to Lake Ontario at the area where the Genesee river empties into Lake Ontario.
